Keirah is the headstrong daughter of Alagoran Sinclaire, Chieftain and Laird of the Clans of Carragh Tuir in the Southern Celtic Isles. Their home, called the Citadel, holds a strategic position on the cliffs of Carragh Tuir and have enjoyed relative peace due to their centuries old alliance with the Avalar, a race of fierce winged warriors. The Citadel is also the training ground for those young women who are selected to become life mates of the Avalar men. When Keirah is finally visited by nightly visions of a warrior who desires to claim her as his life mate, she is thrilled at the news...until she tells her parents and learns of a dark secret that has been kept from her.
Toryn is the son and heir to the throne of Albion, King of the Avalars. Ruggedly handsome, cocky and arrogant, Toryn is a strong and proud Warrior of his people, leader of all the Avalar Warriors. He has refused to claim his life mate as the gods have dictated, but a turn of events now has her as his obsession. When Toryn finally comes to claim his mate, a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse ensues, unknown gifts and talents are uncovered, and a dangerous enemy long thought to have been dead, arises.
The Clan of Sinclaire and the House of the Avalars must put old grudges aside and fight together against a common foe. As things heat up between Toryn and Keirah, so do the betrayals and intrigue around them. In order to be victorious in battle, Keirah must come to terms with what and who she is...for it is upon her that destiny has laid its hand....and the lives of those she loves.

Another fantastic book blurb! This sounds like it is a bit darker than The Saggittary. Which is fine by me--I've been feeling more drawn to urban fantasy lately.
